Randy talks about how he is dropping his life-long habit of inhaling abnormal amounts of caffeine.


Why I drink so much caffeine:- It's a stimulant and feels very good to help focus while in front of a computer, for often 12 hours a day. The problem with the caffeine amount that I drink is that coffee is often 3 x's the amount found in a soda. For example: an 8-ouce cup of coffee has between 95-200mg of caffeine.- For comparison, a 12 ounce can of soda has 34-45mg- 8-ounce energy drink: 70-100mg- 8-ounce cup of tea: 14-60mg


Why I'm cutting Caffeine
-   Increases blood pressure-   Increases release of acid in your stomach-   It may interfere with the absorption of calcium in the body-   Apparently there is synthetic caffeine that's added to some medicines, foods, and drinks. I did not know this. I probably just assumed that those companies were just finding the natural caffeine and then extracting it and adding it to different things.- Source for all of that above information - Caffeine: MedlinePlus
